Simply put, this is a fun game to play by yourself, but an absolute gem to play with friends (and for $8, it is practically a steal). My experience is that, the first few games, either you or your friend will choose to blow everything up over a minor revolution. However, the more you play, the more you both want to win, so you start backing down, and finding new strategies that your opponent either can’t or wont block. Eventually, you might even find yourself not opposing that invasion of West Germany because you NEED to take Cuba to get that objective, and if you let this slide, the ruskies might just look away from the Bay of Pigs… If you are going to focus mainly on playing by yourself, I would still recommend buying Precipice, but just with the expectation that things will begin to feel repetitive before the end of the second game.

A cracking little historical strategy game. Easy to learn with great unique mechanics. What really sells the game though is the artwork. Leaders look amazing and you can tell they’ve put a lot of time and effort into this

Staged a pro-american coup in Vietnam. The USSR responded by invading Vietnam. I responded by supplying and training the Vietnamese government. Got to watch as the Soviets wasted manpower and resources for 6 turns in what felt like an inverse version of the Vietnam War. Each match I played felt different from the last. Also I’m happy to say that in my first 5 games only 3 ended with the nuclear apocalypse.

Hooked already after just a few games. Not quite sure why this isn’t more popular? This one is a gem.

It’s like Plague Inc. but the illness is communism.

Great Cold War simulator. The tutorial is not clear, so you will need some trial and error to learn the game. If you’re a fan of Cold War History, this is a great experience. I’d also recommend it as a teaching tool. It’s never the same game twice.
